Rules - 12 Cup Double Triangles Setup

Of the various cup beirut (beer pong) setups, the 12 cup double triangle setup is the third most prevalent. The 12 cup double triangle setup consists of two 6 cup triangles lined up in parallel. When there are 6 total cups remaining on one side, the cups are consolidated into a single 6 cup triangle.

Pay Attention to Your Personal Property

A common convention when playing with 12 cup double triangles setups is to assign each of the initial 6 cup triangles to a single player on each team, until the cups are consolidated after 6 cups are hit. Players then become responsible for the beverage contained within their triangle. One interesting strategy that opponents of team playing with this convention may use is to target one of player’s cups intentionally. While this is a common convention, it is not required by the rules.
